CGT 20301:

Preliminary Practice Work

January 2020 - March 2020

At the start of 2020, I had only worked with two simple modeling programs: Autodesk Inventor and Maya. Within CGT 20301, I was able to learn two more programs (Siemans NX and Catia V5) simultaneously and a new PDM software I was unfamiliar with (Aras Innovator).

In the slideshow, I show off some of the models I was able to work with and annotate to the best of my abilities while following standards in manufacturing modeling practices.

This early assignment helped us understand how to correctly dimension an object within CATIA V5.

Animal Rescue League - Cat Cage Latching System Design

cat_edited_edited.png

March 2020 - May 2020

We were given a mini-competition by the Animal Rescue Leagues, an animal shelter out in Boston,  to see which team could make the best latching design for their pre-existing cat cages. The team was most comfortable using NX for our design methods because we felt it was easier to use.

Our design needed to be as cheap as possible because it is a volunteer shelter and needed to prevent any of the volunteers from being injured by these cats while locking the cages.

Our task was given to us from an animal shelter out in Boston known as the Animal Rescue League, We needed to develop a better way of closing these cat cages than their previous methods.
